We source all our natural organic canvas from local suppliers in the South of Spain.
This region is justifiably famous for its textile expertise, and Poveda Textil is best-in-class when it comes to sustainable materials.
All the materials they provide are exclusively organic and recycled and they work closely with their partners to reduce water and energy consumption during the manufacturing process.
Such is their belief in the sustainable fashion movement, they’ve even invested in a partner dyeing factory.
This company shares their understanding of the urgent need to reduce water and energy, while anticipating and preparing for the eco challenges that lie ahead. They’re also carbon neutral and support a number of reforestation projects in the South of Spain.
Why
Canvas products represent 80% of our natural materials portfolio, which is why it was key to find a highly qualified and committed supplier to maintain our high quality standards.
Locally sourced organic canvas allows us to reduce water consumption by 86% and energy consumption by 62%.
It also allows us to reduce the amount of environmentally harmful chemicals in our manufacturing process. Last (but not least) organic cultivation helps cotton growers and their families to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
What's next:
This is the beginning
This is just the beginning. Next year, we plan to ethically source our cotton directly from the South of Spain.
At present, many of the cotton crops we source are based in Turkey (one of the world’s most important producers of organic cotton). The closer we can be to our source, the kinder we can be to our planet.
